Amanda Carroll, Sage Jewelry Arts
A self-taught jewelry artist after handcrafting her own bridal veil, Amanda opened Bead Boutique in May 2003 in a 1,200-square-foot storefront in Matthews, N.C. Today, the newly named Sage Jewelry Arts boasts 2,400 square feet in the Windsor Square Shopping Center, with an unparalleled selection of supplies to create one-of-a-kind wearable art.
The business has grown from a boutique-style bead store to a fully functioning jewelry academy, inspiring the creative individuals with craft of artisan designs. Sage Jewelry Arts employs the best instructors in the area to fill its calendar with classes for every skill level and technique. From colorful glass beads and stones to wire-wrapping and silversmithing, the academy promote beauty and innovation. Carrying such unique pieces as a custom stamped bracelet and a triple-strand freshwater pearl necklace, all the handcrafted jewelry sold at Sage is made by Amanda and her talented staff of artists, each who embraces their own personal flair for design.
Amanda stays abreast of the emerging jewelry market by traveling the country to learn from very best instructors, including Tim McCreight, Alan Revere, Michael Good, Scott Patrick, CeCe Wire, Chris Darway and others. She is certified in art clay and precious metal clay. A true entrepreneur, Amanda’s take on tackling new challenges and lifelong learning is, “How difficult can it be?”
Sage Jewelry Arts supports the community by giving its time and donating products to area schools, churches, food banks and other charitable organizations. Amanda is the President of Carroll Designs Inc, and she serves on the board of NAWBO Charlotte as the chapter Expansion Director. With twelve years of previous entrepreneurial pursuits and business collaborations Amanda now revels in loving and living out her passion.
Amanda, her husband Doug and their daughter Julia — a college student and entrepreneur herself — live in Concord, N.C.
